Step 2 - Your results + your plan: We walk you through your results and build a personalised plan, with clear goals and what to expect at each stage.

Chiropractors care for the spine and joints, most commonly helping with back pain, neck pain and joint pain. At VIP Health, we take a broader view. Your spine protects your nervous system, the pathway your brain uses to communicate with the rest of your body, so we look at how well it's functioning and work to find the root causes of your symptoms, not just where it hurts. Our focus is long-term wellness rather than a quick fix. Not sure if chiropractic is right for you? A free 15-minute discovery call is a relaxed, no-pressure way to find out.
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons people see us. Long desk days can leave the neck, shoulders and upper back stiff, sometimes with headaches. We assess your posture and movement with our 3D movement analysis system, then combine hands-on care with a mobility program and practical changes to your day.
Yes. Dr Wendy has worked for 15+ years in sports rehabilitation, including with basketball, rugby league and soccer teams. We assess how you move, treat what's holding you back, and build a rehab program to return you to your sport, whether you're a runner, cyclist, golfer or gym regular.
All three can help with muscle, joint and movement problems. Chiropractors focus on the spine and joints, with hands-on care plus rehab. Physios often cover a broader range of rehab, including after surgery, and osteopaths also use hands-on techniques. We'll tell you honestly if someone else is a better fit.
Fees depend on the appointment type, such as an initial assessment or follow-up, and current prices are shown when you book online. Value comes from a clear plan, costs explained up front and regular re-assessment, so you can see whether it's working. Compare clinics on clarity and measurement, not just the price of one visit.
If your pain comes from an accident or injury, ACC may cover part of the cost, and a co-payment usually applies. You don't need a GP referral: book an ACC Initial Consultation (50 minutes) for a new injury, or an ACC Visit (15 minutes) if you already have a claim number. We are also a registered Southern Cross provider. What you can claim depends on your policy, so check your plan.
Your first appointment is 50 minutes. We take your history, assess your spine and joints, run 3D movement analysis and explain your plan. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in freely. Follow-up visits are 15 minutes, and a returning visit after more than six months is a 35-minute re-entry assessment.
It's an assessment that measures how you move. It gives us an objective baseline, so your chiropractic and rehab plan targets what the data shows, and you can see real progress when we re-test.
An adjustment is a hands-on technique to improve how a joint moves. Many people feel looser afterwards, and some notice mild soreness or tiredness for a day or so. Tell us how you feel so we can adjust your care, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
It depends on your assessment and goals. Some people notice a change within a few visits, others need a longer rehab program. Visits are usually closer together at the start and spread out as you improve, and we explain the reason for every plan. If anyone asks you to commit to frequent visits without a clear reason, ask why.
Some people feel a little sore afterwards, much like returning to the gym after a break. This is similar to delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS): mild, short-lived achiness that settles within a day or two as your body adjusts.
If you have any of these symptoms, call 111 or go to the emergency department instead of booking an appointment, as they can signal a stroke or other serious condition:
- Sudden, severe headache (unlike your usual ones)
- Sudden dizziness or loss of balance
- Double vision
- Slurred speech or facial drooping
- Trouble swallowing
- Sudden weakness, numbness or collapse
- Back or neck pain with fever, leg weakness, or loss of bladder or bowel control also needs urgent medical care first.
For everyday aches and stiffness, we'll review your health history at your first visit and refer you on if you need other care.
Look for registration with the NZ Chiropractic Board (check the public register), a proper assessment before treatment, plain-language explanations, a plan with clear goals and re-assessment, and a willingness to refer you elsewhere. Be wary of plans that aren't clearly explained up front, or claims to treat unrelated illnesses.
